My Current Work in Progress: “Astronomer” by Myles Pinkney
A cozy check‑in from my diamond art table
There’s something magical about sitting down with a diamond art kit that feels bigger than you. Detailed, whimsical, and full of tiny surprises waiting to be uncovered. That’s exactly how I’ve been feeling while working on my current project: “Astronomer” by Myles Pinkney from Diamond Art Club.
If you’ve ever seen this piece, you know it’s not just a painting, it’s a whole little universe. A dreamy, mystical workspace filled with the magical mystical glow of curiosity that makes you want to lean in and explore every corner.
And right now, that’s the energy I’ve been craving.

Why I Chose This Kit
I’ve been in a season where my mind feels busy and my emotions feel loud. Diabetes, weight loss, routines, numbers — it all adds up. I needed something that felt like an escape, but a gentle one. Something that let me breathe.
When I saw Astronomer, it felt like a deep exhale.
The colors are rich and moody. The details are enchanting. And the whole vibe feels like stepping into a quiet, magical study where time slows down.
It’s the perfect project for evenings when I want to unwind without thinking too hard.
How It’s Going So Far
Right now, I’m working my way through the background lots of deep blues, and shadowy tones. It’s one of those sections where you don’t see the full picture yet, but you can feel it coming together.
A few things I’m loving about this kit:
- The color palette is calming and atmospheric
- The rendering is crisp and detailed (Diamond Art Club always nails this)
- The drills are super sparkly — especially the blues
- The size feels big enough to be immersive but not overwhelming
And honestly? It’s been such a grounding part of my routine. When my mind starts spiraling or I feel myself slipping into emotional eating mode, sitting down with this project helps me reset.
The Little Moments I’m Enjoying
Diamond art isn’t just about the final picture, it’s about the tiny, quiet moments along the way.
Like:
- The soft click of drills settling into place
- The way the light catches the canvas at night
- The satisfaction of finishing a whole section
- The cozy ritual of turning on my lamp, sipping on some warm coffee, and settling in
This kit has been giving me all of that and more.
What’s Next
I’m getting close to the more detailed parts the telescope, the night sky, the little magical stars that make this artwork so special. I can’t wait to see how they come to life in diamonds.
I’ll share another update soon, maybe even a progress photo once I get through a few more sections.
For now, this project is my little pocket of calm and a sparkly reminder that creativity counts as self‑care, and that slowing down is sometimes the most healing thing we can do.
